South Asian Student Support

South Asian Student Support: Project SASS, aims to promote the welfare and wellbeing needs of students of South Asian descent across Melbourne. This program serves students from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

In 2020, this innovative, student-led initiative was supported by Study Melbourne’s International Student Welfare Program and the Victorian government. This project is a consortium of 11 organisations, led by IndianCare.

  • Information on referrals to counsellors and psychologists including relationship or family violence counselling
  • Social networking opportunities, connection to cultural and intercultural groups, information on festivals, community events and Australian culture in general
